Most breeders do it when they are three days old and get their tails docked. I hate dew claws. I grew up with a beagle who got continues infections and in like a week her dew claw could go from nice and trimmed to growing into her pad. Callie got hers stuck on the fence and ripped it off and exposed her nerve and vein. It was so icky.
