Max and Teddy were between age 3 and 4 when they settled into their adult colors.
Teddy is lighter and his saddle hair grows in dark, but then lightens, like your girl's stripe. He scratched and broke a bunch of hair at the back of his neck last year and it grew back dark. He has stripes at his shoulders.
