Default Questions about calcium during pregnancy and delivery

Hello,
My Olivia is pregnant and due on July 10th. This is my first time having a yorkie litter and I am a bit nervous. I had a litter of golden retrievers years ago but they are so different from yorkies. Thankfully I have a wonderful breeder friend who has been walking me through the pregnancy so far. Olivia is getting a prenantal vitamin daily and she is eating nutrisource puppy food which is what I feed my puppies. I also give her ground turkey burger and veggies with her dry food at night. She gets healthy treats like fruit or cheese and she seems to be doing fine. She is just so big and still has two weeks to go. The Vet saw at least 4 puppies when she had her ultrasound.
My friend always gives calcium to her pregnant females about a week before they are due. She also gives them a dose in between delivering each pup. She then gives her females bone health in their food while they are nursing. I have everything so I can do this but my Vet didn't feel it was neccessary. What are your thoughts?
I have another question. If Olivia has a large litter and one or two are little and are having trouble should I supplement feed them. My cat had 9 kittens with her first litter and I supplemented them with kitten formula and all lived and were very healthy. I probably wouldn't have to do this with all of her puppies but thought if there were one or two that are really tiny and not thriving, I should with them. Thank you in advance for your help!! Anne
