introduction Hi,
We just buried our beloved Xapa (Greek for joy or blessing pronounced "ka-ruh") today after she suffered a bite from a large copperhead and quickly declined in health despite excellent care from our local vet.
Having said all this, we will soon be looking for a reputable breeder so I'm joining this site to get better educated.
We purchased Xapa nine years ago from a wonderful couple who came highly recommended by friends but unfortunately they are no longer breeding.
Any help or advice from senior members is appreciated. We have lots of references (veterinary and professional) for the right breeder and have the flexibility of purchasing in TX or VA or traveling a short distance to meet the breeder at their home.
Above all, we're not looking for a show dog but rather a healthy dog from a responsible breeder.
Thanks!
