But you would think he was as scared as he is of grooming. Im the only person who has ever groomed him. He doesnt try to bite or anything he is just in pure panic as soon as the clippers and blow dryer turn on.
So i shave him every 8 wks or so in the summer. And keep him long in the winter and just do clean up sanitary trims every couple weeks.
I used to think oh he will get used to it eventually but he just turned 9 years old and still hates it just as much as the day i got him!
I always say it shouldnt be this stressful grooming my own dog!! Haha |
I got Griffy from a client two years ago, when he was 3. She travelled a lot, and he's a very needy little guy, so that didn't work well for him. I grew up with a Yorkie (Named Tiffy, oddly enough) and had been wanting one. He kind of just fell into my lap and he hasn't left it sense. Like I said, he's needy. Haha.
He's not really afraid of anything, he is just a big brat. He's very dominant, and while I'm alpha in some areas at home. He's definitely alpha when I try to groom him. If that makes sense. I can't brush him at all at home. As soon as a brush touches him he starts making noises that make me worried my neighbors will think I'm abusing him.
