Question My 7 Year Old Yorkie diagnosed with Liver Shunt

Hi everyone! My 7 year old Yorkie Hunter was just diagnosed with Liver Shunt. Hunter started having seizures and Vet put him on phenobarbital and potassium bromide. Needless to say the seizures became more frequent. I did my research and read about Yorkies having liver shunt and seizures could be a sign. I had him have the bile acid tests and it came back high levels. He is now on Hills L/D on another seizure med and Denamrin. Since he is 7 years old they are saying its likely micro vascular liver shunt and treating him with diet. My question is there anyone here that their dog started with seizures and saw a difference after diet? I am so worried that by diet alone his seizures won't stop. We started his diet last night and today is the first full day. I am looking for hope and a light at the end of the tunnel. He is my baby and I just can't imagine anything happening to him.
