Could be allergies, usually environmental. Food allergies are less common, although some Yorkies do better with some foods when it comes to eye goobers and tear stains.

Pollen and dust are big problems. Things you use inside your home can also contribute. Cleaning products and air fresheners can be irritants.

Hair in the eye can also cause excessive tearing. When Max was a pup and his hair was growing out, keeping the hair out of his eyes was a constant battle.
