I can sympathize! Oh man, we've tried so many things, I'm not sure what actually worked. We say "ouch!" loudly, we ignore him and stop playing, we give him many other toys and things to chew on as a diversion, and he's even been in a time-out. The one thing I tried that absolutely did not work was giving him a treat after he stopped biting. Made him bite again to earn another reward. I really don't know how much of this issue was singleton syndrome and how much was just teething, but he's almost 8 months and is so much better.
