I hope you take this seriously bc this little pup shouldn't even be away from his Momma and littermates yet - he should be with them until at least 12 weeks. So, I'd be suspect of the ethics of that breeder.
As for the cough - in puppies this can swiftly progress to pneumonia and they can/will die if left untreated. This pup needs the right antibiotic, a cough syrup, etc in order to deal with this. And unforch, btw, kennel cough can last for MONTHS in puppies.
In the meantime also, STAY AWAY from getting the kennel cough vaccine - which is likely how/why he got this in the first place.
