I agree. I think he's simply brain washed and accepted it, as much of a true believer as a unsure young person can be.... maybe not so much full fledged, but acceptance. He'll rely on someone else coming to his aid when it is needed. He's a child.
Jamie now has an army at his disposal that is no longer tied into a siege, I'm looking at that one to be the one to save Cercei, Marjorie and Marjorie's brother. Oh, just had a thought, under life for a life... maybe Marjorie's brother dies... I don't see Cercei dying yet though... She'll be present when Mother of Dragons takes over... That will be the ultimate burn for a person who has schemed for control of the throne from the very start, all of her effort and loss will have been for nothing at that point. (I'm thinking Jamie will die as part of that takeover adding to Cercei's losses)
Some where along the way, I think we will see a battle between brothers, The Hound vs the Mountain.... maybe next season????
