Once you properly introduce the crate (i.e. you never place the dog in the crate, but rather let the dog go in him/herself), you need to do the actual "crate training" (i.e. get your dog to like the crate and be okay in it while you're away). It takes a lot of time and effort on your part, but it's worth it.

Thanks, I think I need to slow down and make the crate a fun place to be. She's such a sweetheart and will definitely consider obedience training for her.
