I can relate to that.
You are making me think of when I first brought Max home as a puppy. His little paw pads were so perfect, they didn't real! They are a little rougher and greyer now from many miles of walks.
He injured a paw pad once and I used a product called Bag Balm to heal it. I was concerned about him licking it, so I would probably use organic coconut oil as Shicks above suggested in the future.
