I have a 3.5lb (1.6 kg) Yorkshire Terrier who is 3 and a half years old. Her name is Tinky. We are in love

When I had Tinky she was 6 months old with a slight hypoglycaemia. When I say slight I mean she was having attack once in every couple months. This diminished over the years. Actually I might say she didnt have an episode this last year. Thank God. Now this is my question:
Since she was so small and had hypoglycaemia I never left her at home or any where alone. There is a lady working in my house so if I had to go somewhere she was never ever alone. But this year both of my children are going away. So I don't need a staying at home helper. That is why I am ending the helper's job this September. Now since Tinky has never been alone since I took her what should I do. I am scared that what if she has an hypoglycaemia attack because she gets stressed. The vet says I should start leaving her for short times and prolong the time gradually. I should keep the radio or the TV on and everytime I come back I should give her treats.
But I am still scared! What are your suggestions? Any similar experiences?
Thank you
