Thank you, Rachael! I started out referring to us as her grandparents, but DH objected strenuously!

You may be better off with rescues, they will be adults and have reached their full growth. But I must warn you, window shopping lol, meaning checking adoption and rescue sites if you see something there is NO such thing as " let's JUST go to look at this dog" it don't work, you will fall in love and come home with an unplanned baby. 3 of my babies found a place in my heart and home because I made the mistake of just wanting to look at puppies, best mistake I ever made lol.
Thank you for sharing your experience and stories, matese! So many teapot Yorkies -- it sounds like heaven.

I would dearly love to have a tiny one and, quite frankly, if it got tired of walking I could carry it. But, like you, the larger just fit our lifestyle better.

Nope! Not going to "just look" at puppies till I'm ready to bring one home. Nope, nope, nope...

Like you, we actually started sharing her yorkie Jasmine.....well when my neighbor moved away, I missed Miss Jasmine so much that I went out and found an adorable 7 yr old rescue who gave me 6 years of unconditional love until she passed away at the age of 13.

Now I have Duchess who was 2.5 years old (she's 4 yrs old now) when I adopted her and she is a little spitfire.....everyone and every dog in my neighborhood knows who she is .
Wow, we do have similar stories, yavenay! I dread the day that our neighbor moves.

Trupa's not predictable with other dogs. I'm working on it with her. But she never met a person she didn't like. Everyone in the neighborhood knows her by name. They may or may not know mine. The other day I was walking her and a homeless guy quietly said, "Hi, puppy." I let her go to him. He was delighted that someone acknowledged that he was there and happily patted her. She, of course, loved him no less than anyone else.
