I seen a good episode on its me or the dog where a yorkie did this. And everytime she did this they picked her up and sat her on the floor. It took time and patience. But in the end she stopped jumping up and barking at anyone when she was on the couch.
And for most behavior problems and tired dog is a happy dog. More exercise , more walks, more play... Equals a happy, Tired , quiet dog
