Some vets recommend low fat diets for pups who have had one episode of pancreatitis. One of my pups was in ICU with pancreatitis a couple of years ago and he has been on a lower fat diet since. I really think it varies from one case to another. I have had pups have one episode and never again...and then I had one who had multiple episodes over a few years.

As I said, and as Kristen also pointed out, it is not always diet related.

I would try not to worry too much. You know the symptoms now and it is wise to always get to a vet quickly when they start the vomiting. They really can go downhill quickly. You may never have this happen again!
Thank you both for such great encouragement. Ruger's doing great, but I feel he's hungry. He will pick at his kibble and when we have our snacks he gets his nasty can low fat food the vet sent home. We really need to find a happy middle.
Hope it doesn't take long. Thanks again you are great Yorkie Moms.
