Leather ear update Hi all....
I started trying the solution of peroxide and vinegar and then applying a thin layer of lotromin 1% on GiGi's ear (actually the pharmacist in the shop rite I go gave me a generic brand which is 1/3 of the price of lotromin, she said she has had these problems with her dog too). I tried it for the first time on Thursday, did not do it on Friday. When I looked at it this morning it seemed like the dark discoloration had faded a bit (was that my imagination?). So I tried the solution again this morning and when I was cleaning GiGi's ear with the peroxide and vinegar solution the tiniest black specs started to come off on the cotton ball. So I continued as I was drying her ear with some additional cotton balls I saw more very tiny black specs coming off on the cotton.
So I am hoping this is what the others were talking about and that GiGi's ears will get back to normal. I am going to apply the solution every other day till I see how her skin responds to all this. Right now I am only doing the skin side of the ear and later will do the hair side of the ear...which does not look as if it has lost any hair (yet anyway).
Once again thanks for everybody's help...I will post pics as we go along.
