For a female, you can cut a hole (up to where the tail will be exposed) in the part that covers the bum, leaving the edging that contains the snaps so that you will still be able to snap it. This will keep the onesie from sliding up but still allow them to go to the bathroom. Many here have used these for females after a spay. It prevents the pup from getting to the incision and also gives some protection should they lay down on a surface that isn't totally sanitary. No cone of shame needed. Picture:
