For me, I absolutely cannot watch horror movies!! It's always after the movie that scares me, more than the movie itself. I have nightmares and see visions even after I close my eyes. It's really scary.
Anyway...I think my closest similarity is that I'm afraid to be home alone. But when they're around, I feel safe as well. They usually hear everything and alert me, no matter where we are
