We find many dogs will not poop and pee in the same spot. I agree, the key is having the scent of urine on the pad. There is nothing better than the real thing. Your own dogs scent will work, but if you have donating dog, better. We often have people go to a doggy daycare with a napkin and ziplock bag. Place the napkin in a puddle (watch where you step) LOL and place it in the zip lock. When you get home, poke pin holes in the ziplock, and put it under the pad or puppy potty. You wont smell it, but your Yorkie will. This really encourages them to use the right place and know it is okay. There is attractants for sale in stores, and even ours has an attractant, but honestly, nothing works better then the real thing, and you only need to use it for a few days until your fur baby gets the idea.
Also remember, lots of praise for a job well done.
