Anyway my other dog was tested and my cat and they both came back negative so that's good.

HMM if you use Sentinel you should not have this problem as Hookworms is one of the worms that Sentinel covers.
I know when I adopted My Allie 5 yrs ago, she had hook worms, but then her previous owner didn't have her on Heart Worm Medication that also covers that as well. We treated and have not had a problem since.
