 Jake has hookworms!
Yep, all this time I though it was colitis, the first vet I saw was not my original vet and she said he was negative for them, but this last week he went back into a flare, we took him in and he has hookworms.
Now my vet is wondering if this is in addition to the colitis or is there no colitis and it's always been hooks. Apparently you can get a false negative test even in you have them on a dewormer. I use Sentinal. Now Jake is on Panacur and I saw an improvement that very day.
Anyway my other dog was tested and my cat and they both came back negative so that's good.
Has anyone had any experience with hookworms and the treatment, I'd love to know. |
