Honestly, associating any issues with food usually solves most problems. Try feeding him his dinner while you put on the leash, before, during, and after. If his dinner is not enticing enough, then use treats. Constant praises as well. They looooove hearing "good boy". And then, just be consistent.
Yelp if he bites, look away and don't give attention when he bites. "Good boy" for not biting. And repeat.
