Happy to hear the swelling is going down and that his eye is fine. It is probably a little bug bite or he may have stuck his face in a sharp piece of dry grass or a shrub. Because it isn't a round bump, probably not a stye or ingrown hair.
I hope it back to normal in a day or two.
