Poor boy! Gently raise his top eyelid to check for redness on the white part of the eye. If it is white and he doesn't have any yellow, green, or unusual discharge from the eye, could be a bug bite or sting.
Watch it closely to make sure it doesn't swell more. You could also try a warm compress using a cotton ball or wash cloth. Wet it with warm water and hold it on the spot for a couple of minutes. You can do that several times today.
If it doesn't start going down by tomorrow, I would check in with the vet.
