I mentioned Cowboy Magic detangler, which is good, but nothing is perfect. Here is their website:

Be sure to read the reviews at the bottom of the page--some of them are from Yorkie and other small dog owners. It's very painful to the dog to try to pull out bad tangles, so if they don't come out easily, then the only thing you can do is shave them off.
