If you switched him to this new food - then yes, it's very likely it's the food and I'd get him off of it asap as gas can be very uncomfortable, and it's not good for a puppy. I'd switch back to what the breeder is feeding and/or at the very least find a food that has the same protein/carb source that the breeder was feeding.
