I have heard mixed things. I guess honestly it will come down to if he/she will eat it and if it's the best you can get...some areas are not that good about having a huge variety of foods. I just got my pup almost a week ago. He was on Royal Canin which is supposed to be top notch. Unfortunately, it's a bit harder for me to get. So I decided to change it. I got both good and bad reviews from other forums on the science diet. When I went to petco and spoke to the guy there and he told me that Royal Canin is def. top of the line and that the Nutro line is the same but bit easier to find so I went with that. He did tell me that science diet is good but the Nutro is better. So on that I opted for the Nutro because of it's ingredients, availability for me and the fact that the natural formula that I chose has Oatmeal (which is great for the coat) and glocusamine (which is a healthy addative for their joints).

Good luck in your decision. There is so much information out there and the best thing is choosing what you are comfortable with.
