Don't feel like you need to defend getting a puppy. We all know what you mean when you say you can't replace your lost baby. Only you know when/if your heart is ready to love another kiddo. Embrace your new kiddo, hug her tight, and just be happy with her -- that's what your 11 yr old baby would want for you, right
...? He'd want you to be happy, and to share your home w/ another little pup. Congrats!
