Houdini.. There were 2 times where I let both my female and JB out lose in the kitchen while I was at work for my AM shift (JB always has free roam with pads). The first time, I came home to find the gate knocked down and Carrie on the couch. Sounds funny but had to walk the whole house (which is carpeted except for the kitchen and bathrooms) to find where she peed and then cleaned it up. I looked at my bed and saw that she was on there cause of the indentation on the pillows. Didn't think anything of it but when me and hubby went to bed, there it was! A huge wet spot where she peed on the bed. I was furious! Second time I tried the free-roam of the kitchen, I came home and found her and JB ok in the kitchen with gates still intact. But then, what is REALLY WEIRD, is that I walked on the living room side of the gate and there was Carrie's poop in the living room. Now how the heck did she poop in the living room and then get back into the kitchen? I discussed this with the breeder where I got her from and she said there is NO WAY that a dog would get out of a confined area and then go back in. Once they are out, they are out. So I guess I am the one going crazy trying to find out where that poop came from or my female is Houdini. I have the day off today so I am going to try this free roam thing again with both of them in the kitchen. The breeder had her and a couple other females have free roam and Carrie was using the newspaper but the room she had them in had a door. Big difference right there! I am going to put down newspaper and pads and see what happens. If she gets out again then I will be at a loss. I showed the breeder the gates I use and they are 3ft tall. Carrie is a jumper but having linoleum floors, they slide on it so no way she could get good footing to jump. It's just that the last incident has me baffled and scratching my head.
