The only thing you have to pay for is the monthly fee or upfront fee depending on which plan you choose. When you go in for routine stuff that is included in the plan you pay nothing. You do have to pay for non routine stuff that is not outlined in the coverage, but you do get a discount on those services. I personally love the vet at my Banfield. She has been there for 3 years and knows us and my puppies by name. I would just go in and meet them. Then you can see if you feel comfortable with the vet there. Also they will be able to go over everything that is covered and not covered by the plan. I have never looked into VPI, but I think it just depends on what you are looking for.
