Default travel with my dog

Many people who are not dog lovers don't realize what a service our little companion dogs perform for us. They love us without question, don't judge us and love being with us. They perform as much of a service to many of us but can't be classified as service dogs. Gidget will be either in a purse/bag, in her stroller with the stop down (she doesn't like being confined so I leash her in and tie the leash to the handle of the stroller) or in a carry bag around my neck. She might weigh 3 lbs at this point but no more than that. Her full adult weight will be around 5 lbs. Since husband of 55 years passed away recently, she is a great companion for me. She keeps me busy just taking care of her. She's being trained to the wee wee pads and is good about 98% of the time. I think she's doing really well since she's not even 4 months old yet. Luv my Gidgy-girl!
I am so sorry about the loss of your husband, I know your Gidget will be a comfort to you. I live in Highlands NC, so you will love it there. Almost everywhere is pet friendly. Are you staying at the Bark on Main?

Yes, many restaurants are pet friendly. Cypress and Wild Time have outside pet friendly areas. Perhaps I will see you there. I will make sure to stop everyone I see with a Yorkie and ask "are you Gidget?"

Have you been to Highlands before?
