A hybrid dog is otherwise known as a mutt. Mario is a hybrid/mutt dog. I love mutts, personally. However, please make sure you pay accordingly for one, and IMO it is better to get one from a rescue or shelter. We adopted Mario from a city pound. We paid 78.00 dollars for him which all went to his neuter, rabies shot and a heart worm test. The pound kept none of the adoption fee. Mario, coming from a pound, was a mixed bag of blessings/issues.....but in reality, all dogs are a mixed bag until you really get to know them in your own time, and your own setting. It was an awesome investment in a pup! People who call mutts hybrid dogs are usually charging way more than they have any right to charge.

As for buying a full bred, if she is a puppy mill, stay away from her. Ask all the right questions before you buy a pup from anyone. Ask to see genetic testing on the parents, her puppy guarantee and her contract. READ the contract...every word. Even if you have to take it home and come back, read it all. There is a list of questions here somewhere, and I would certainly ask every single one of them if I was buying a purebred dog.
