Let me tell you -- YOU knew about this dying, suffering dog - it was ABSOLUTELY 100%
your business. And there are no 2 ways about it.
You stood by knowing this poor living being was suffering, and now, afterwards, you make NO apologies whatsoever about it...just more excuses as to how a suffering dying creature is "just not your business". I mean, I'm just speechless over your behavior and your endless justification of your friend's behavior and YOUR behavior.

there is no justification here....so I really wouldn't waste your time continuing to try to convince yourself that you were in the right. You weren't; you are/were 1,000,000% in the wrong and every single person reading this thread knows it.
The fact that you won't just admit how wrong you were just adds insult and injury to this poor dog's excruciating death. You are behaving just exactly like your friend did...putting yourself first and seemingly not caring at all about what was the correct thing to do here.
