We had a Yorkie who tore both ACL's within about 6 months of each other, when she was 5 years old. The first tear happened when she was playing and fell off the hassock. We had it repaired by a specialist in Burlington, VT, Dr. Kinney. The other ACL was torn the following winter, when she slipped on the ice. Dr. Kinney repaired that one, too.
She recovered quickly and never had a problem with the repairs.
I don't remember the actual recovery time as it was about 10 years ago.
Our Daffney was a larger Yorkie, about 10 pounds.
