| Of course, not all generalizations apply to all dogs. I can only speak from my experience.
My female Yorkie, that I grew up with as a child, only barked when someone was at the door or when a stranger entered the home.
My current male Yorkie is basically a mute, and hardly ever barks inside. However, he does bark when outside on walks.
My advice would be to look into a good breeder that not only breeds for health, but temperament.
