I probably have no business saying this, but I would have real concerns being so new to breeding and having a vet who might be more experienced in large animals than they are in these little ones. Your moms were fairly small to breed to begin with and the whole thing seems to have gotten complicated thru no fault of yours. A mentor is a necessity in instances like this. Doesn't have to be a Yorkie breeder but maybe another toy breeder..
I agree with Pat to treat them as if they were for sure preggers. I never have had a sonogram as I don't think they give accurate info at such an early stage in pregnancy. And, the moms can absorb pups or placentas or whatever.
So, get your X-rays done and go from there. You should still start your whelping kits and beds. Maybe next time, only one mom can be bred at a time and you can relax and enjoy the whole process. Worrying about these babies is definitely not relaxing and fun..
