I have mixed feelings about Theon. He is guilty of horrible things, including killing the 2 farm boys and betraying the Starks.
His ambition definitely exceeded his brains, landing him in Ramsay's torturous hands. I don't think he was evil. He just wasn't very smart and he was confused about honor, having been taken away from his father and made a ward or whatever of Ned Stark.
