HI! The bitter apple spray is in case they start chewing on any item they shouldn't be, just a quick spritz of this will usually stop any further chewing

I never had it with my first two pups-ugh and used w this little girl and literally, it stopped her from ever biting on anything she shouldn't-was awesome. Regarding food, if you are buying from a reputable breeder, they will be using a high quality food, so you should try to keep them on the food the breeder is using, whenever possible. If a switch is to be made, I suggest doing very slowly. I only use dry food. My 20 month old girl is on Royal Canin. hope this helps!
