I had to go out of the tri state area to find a yorkie from a reputable breeder-there were many inexpensive yorkies, but it was clear they were from backyard breederers or puppy mills. From the recommendations I found on yorkie talk, average prices in other states (outside of NY) from a reputable breeder seem to be on average $1500-2000 for pet quality (not show quality).
