I did switch in a day from Hills Id to Royal Canin because my vet said to, he said they are very close except that the Hills has a slightly higher fat content.
I am back to the Hills ID, there is something in Royal Canin that does not agree with Jakey's system. My vet prescribed sulfasalazine 3x a day and we are staying with the 2 Flagyls a day too.
For 2 weeks, if no improvement we go to the next step- see my thread in the sick forum if you want to read what that entails.
I do believe in my gut (no pun intended) that it is allergy/stress colitis. I don't know what he's allergic too and I do want to find a higher quality food for him once he stabilizes. I can't change his food again right now. My vet agrees and thinks he may even end up on kangaroo food or something way out in left field like that, or rabbit, due to allergies.
