Have you checked for any products derived from chicken in food and treats? Any family members maybe fed a scrap of it when they forgot?
I have a chi with chicken problems and it seems to be in everything. Chicken fat, chicken meal, poultry meal (what kind of poultry?!). One time my SO forgot he was allergic and gave him a piece of chicken breast and it sent his skin into a total freak out.
Also my chi is allergic to pollen. I am not sure what the season there is, but here it is springtime and the air is full of it right now.
