Default What happends when a bonded dog dies

So I have been thinking lately about this issue since I have two bonded dogs. I hope and pray it won't happen for many years!

They are my first dogs and I have never experienced this issue. What happens when a dog of a bonded pair dies. How does the other dog typically react? I know all situations are different. But I would love to hear from others that have experienced it.

Yesterday, when I was feeding them it got me thinking. Thumper allows Boomer to eat and drink first. However, Boomer will not eat his food until Thumper's bowl is also placed on the floor for him to eat. Such good manners

I never want them to hurt or be unhappy. Even when I separate them for just a few minutes that react and have to kiss each other when they are reunited. (If they separate themselves its different)
