Just want to say I am all for Yorkies having docked tails. I don't consider it a barbaric thing to do and was surprised to find how many people nowadays seem to think it is. My breeder docked the tails—I have no idea how or if a vet did it. You might want to consider having the vet do the docking if you're not sure.
As for length, Sasha has the shortest tail of the three I have had. It's very, very short and her hair has to be moved pretty much to find it. Seems a bit short, but that is probably just me.
As for the idea that Yorkies can't "show emotion" without their tails, which I have read, Sasha wags her whole butt. Trust me, she has no problem showing she's excited.
