I see that no one has replied yet, so I will post a link to my thread about when I had my Bella spayed. She had stitches for two weeks, so I suspect that the recovery time is about the same for spaying and neutering. She couldn't reach the stitches, so we didn't use the E collar. When she had more extensive luxating patella surgery, we used an inflatable E collar for comfort instead of the hard plastic one. If Loki still needs his E collar, I recommend the inflatable one. It's like an inflatable air mattress around the neck, and it's much more comfortable than the hard plastic one.
