Default Anybody's Yorkie had Piles?

Holly's tummy has been a bit upset following a food change (now reverted). Consequently she was at first a little constipated, then mildly loose). She was due a haircut today anyway as her poo was getting a bit tangled with her coat around the rear end. This time as we'd left the trim for her coat to keep her snug in the winter. I of course cleansed the remnants after every motion, but the past few days she showed signs of pain when I attended her with moist toilet wipe.

Her anal passage was also very 'open' and there was a little smear of pinky blood after her motion this morning. Our trimmer (ex veterinary nurse and Yorkie owner) said her anal organs were normal, when she washed her this morning, but that she cried a little whenever she went close to her little bum?

Getting her home, I tried just a little smear of 'Preparation H' haemorrhoid gel before settling her down. To be clear, there was no blood in her motion this morning and no sign of any since. She was spayed a year ago.

I'm wondering if she's just got a bit constipated and strained and maybe became swollen. She's very bright in herself and really seems brighter since Dad dabbed on the gel. I reasoned that our little friends could succumb to piles with the best of us and very unpleasant they can be too. Has anyone else's York had a similar experience?
