I don't do groomers at all, but if I did - I would most definitely tell them to never, ever interfere w/ their anal glands. Anal glands should always just be left alone unless there is a diagnosed problem with them. Otherwise, manual emptying can not only damage stuff but can interfere w/ the natural emptying process, which is not good.
But don't beat yourself up over her being sick - it just happens and there is really no predicting it some times. |
Thank you, I appreciate the good thoughts and encouragement. I gave this woman a hand written note on what to do. top knot and clean up the gunk around her eyes. When Dan told me what happened I was upset, but, it taught me more. It doesn't help Chewie, but it helps me learn.
She had two bms at 5am. Right as I type this she's having the zoomies, squealing at my daughter and whining at the same time. Ears laid back in excitement, and her tail for the first time in three days is upwards and doing the helicopter movement. I hope this trend continues. I don't know how I'm going to keep her from doing this, as she's supposed to be calm and quiet. I gotta go intervene.
