Lotus is silver Yorkie that had long beautiful silky coat. A few months ago I noticed about half an inch dark spot on hair after a grooming session, but I thought they shaved her but failed to tell me. I started to be concerned because that small spot has grown significantly (2x3") and now she had lost a lot of fur with a second black spot of short coarse black fur.

The vet said to wait for a weeks to see results... I am not feeling confident of the diagnosis because I haven't seen my dog chew her own fur, I shaved her to monitor her better but I can see black spots on her.

Has anyone else gotten similar diagnosis and did it clear up?
Does she chew/lick her paws at all...? If she does, I'd be thinking allergies. If not, I'm not so sure. Where is the spot where the fur is gone on the body?

What type of antihistamines were prescribed for her?
