 My Lotus had similar skin problem but the Vet said
Hi, My Lotus is a 3 yr old Yorkie with very similar problems. We went to see the vet , they said it was allergies, that she was chewing her own fur off. They prescribed antihistamines and told me to keep her on regular flea treatments.
Lotus is silver Yorkie that had long beautiful silky coat. A few months ago I noticed about half an inch dark spot on hair after a grooming session, but I thought they shaved her but failed to tell me. I started to be concerned because that small spot has grown significantly (2x3") and now she had lost a lot of fur with a second black spot of short coarse black fur.
The vet said to wait for a weeks to see results... I am not feeling confident of the diagnosis because I haven't seen my dog chew her own fur, I shaved her to monitor her better but I can see black spots on her.
Has anyone else gotten similar diagnosis and did it clear up? |
