Poor Chewie! Dogs are never too young to have pancreatitis, so I would have the test done.
I agree with Nani, hold the carrot juice. Carrots did not agree with Max when he was a pup, even the tiniest bits. Lots of natural sugar in carrots too. If this is store bought juice, I would also check the ingredients to make sure it doesn't have added salt or something else.
Both of my boys have had an incident of extremely painful gas, but it resolved in less than half a day. Plain pumpkin worked for Max, and a trip to the ER and walking around took care of Teddy (although they were still wiped out the next day). We didn't even have a chance to see the doctors who were in surgery.
If Chewie does have pancreatitis, pumpkin and bananas probably are not advisable. Each dog is different, so I'm not sure what the best diet would be. For my guys, whenever they have digestive problems, steamed chicken breast and white rice are what I give them.
